Cimmaron Boardman went to Hondo, Texas, this past Sunday, and went home a little richer. The third annual Namgis Invitational Multiple Sclerosis Fundraiser Calf Roping was held May 20th at Namgis Quarter Horses. Thirty-six calf ropers competed for over $30,000. Cimmaron split first with Trent Walls in round one with an 8.25. He placed second in round 2 with another 8.25. He finished up the day with third place in the short round with an 8.22, making his total on three head 24.72 - which put him at the top of the average. His total winnings on Sunday were $7,907, a custom trophy saddle by Cactus Saddlery, and a custom copper bracelet by Scot Sommerlatte. Congrats Cimmaron!

Congrats to PRCA Calf Roper, Monty Lewis, on his California winning streak. Red Bluff, held April 20-22, started his wins with a total of $4,377. Clovis was the next stop April 27-29, where Lewis took home $6,611. Prize money of $10,988 tells us that there was some pretty impressive roping going on on the West Coast for this Texas man! Good job, Monty!
We would like to say congratulations to Streakin Boon Dox, 2006 Bay Roan Stallion (A Streak Of Fling x PC Josey Dox) and his owners Joe & Carla Spitz of Lamar, CO for an Outstanding 2011 year in the AQHA showpen. Streakin Boon Dox will be awarded the 2011 High Point Jr All Around Horse & High Point Jr Heeling Horse at the Annual AQHA Convention March 9-12, 2012, in Las Vegas, NV. Congratulations to Boon, Joe & Carla!
Justin Maass is having some well-earned success in 2012, winning the calf roping at both the Denver National Western and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo PRCA shows. The Denver National Western took place January 12-22 in Denver, CO, where Maass won over $11,850. The San Antonio show took place February 9-15 and Maass won over $17,350 there. Keep it up, Justin!
